I personally spend at least an hour on the purchase of something I’m dedicated to. If I want to try on some jeans, I shop in a large mall or at a department store where I can compare different styles, so I don't look like a little girl in wholesale men's trousers. Before going out I measure my waist, hip measurement, and the inseam. I’m rather tall, so I have a 90cm inseam and tend to buy brands like Habitual or Rock n’Republic. Petites, on the other hand, can try Kasil, Banana Republic or Caslon.
Know your cuts. There are a couple of most common kinds of jeans:
- Flared jeans open wide between the knee and ankle, being more flowy, accentuating curves.
- Bootcut flare very slightly at the bottom, just enough to be able to fit over high heels or boots.
- Straight-leg jeans do not flare. They can make your legs look slim, but they can be a bit too tight in the calves.
- Skinny jeans are made of the blend of denim and elastane, so they cling more closely to your body, but aren’t uncomfortable. If you’re very curvy, it can be hard to fit them to your body.
- Relaxed or baggy. Boyfriend jeans are a bit oversized, but they should not be too baggy in the butt.
Your preferred rise depends on your height. Choose mid-rise over your rise, avoid the so-called muffin top effect, you don’t want to gather layers of fat above the waist.
Choose the colors that suit you, if you need a light denim pair, get it. Avoid unnecessary stitching, embellishment. They aren’t practical and detract from the versatility of everyday wholesale men's trousers. Remember that darks are more slimming. If you want to accentuate your butt, you can choose a brighter cut with large pockets - and if you want curvy hips, look at hip seams.
