In my opinion, fashion is all about self-expression. If you want to be fashionable on the big first date, you should demonstrate your uniqueness. Unless it's a fancy restaurant or a glitzy nightclub, it’s okay to wear a pair of jeans for your first date. And if you want to express yourself, why not consider a customized T-shirt as your top? While it might not be classy, there are companies trading in wholesale T-shirts just to sell them to customize.
You can easily customize your wholesale t-shirts for a special occasion yourself, just to feel like a fashion designer. You will stand out from the crowd, provoke interesting questions - after all, if you have an interesting hobby you'll have something to talk about!
Remember that your outfit, however, must be consistent and give out a good impression. Remember to match your tops and shoes. Obviously, you want to avoid flip-flops, sandals or Crocs on a date - maybe if you two are planning an evening at the beach. Instead, pick a pair of loafers or nice pumps or kitten heels. With jeans and a T-shirt, you should dress your outfit up. Even if you want to wear casual sporty shoes, don't pick your old tennis shoes, instead of at least get a new pair of Nikes.
Speaking of brands, your T-shirt is a way to express your support for them - or your dislike. You can wear a T-shirt with altered trademark image - after all, you will be the only person wearing it. This will surely provoke comments from your partner - and that’s great! Don’t worry about accidentally offending him or her - if your image on a T-shirt is offensive, what about your political stance and beliefs?
I personally believe, for instance, that you shouldn’t wear vivid colors for your first date - and so think of wearing a black T-shirt with a bright white message. The darker colored shirts are great for design.
